Ensuring Overmatch Through Rapid Acquisition
Army G-TEAD
The Army’s Global Tactical Edge Acquisition Directorate (G-TEAD) is the Army’s acquisition hub, created to close the critical gap between the pace of modern threats and the speed of capability delivery. We rapidly translate urgent commander’s needs into combat-ready, interoperable solutions, ensuring our Soldiers maintain overmatch in any environment. By synchronizing efforts across the acquisition enterprise and fostering collaboration with our allies, G-TEAD delivers the future of warfare, today.

Problem Statement
Battlefield threats change rapidly, and any delay puts our Soldiers and battlefield superiority at risk. The Army requires a novel approach to accelerate capability development, prioritize innovation, synchronize efforts across PAEs, and foster allied nation industry capabilities to prepare for near-peer conflict.

Vision
G-TEAD will serve as the Army’s central hub for rapidly translating Commanders’ needs into battlefield-ready, minimum viable products that are demonstrated in theater.
Our Approach
G-TEAD operates on a simple premise: the traditional, years-long acquisition cycle is no longer sufficient for the modern battlefield. Threats evolve in days or weeks, and our response must be just as agile.
01
Empowering Commanders
We put decision-making at the tactical edge, allowing commanders to directly influence the capabilities they need on the frontlines.
03
Fostering Collaboration
We unite the efforts of the Army, allied nations, and industry partners to develop and deploy the best possible solutions.
04
Rapid Fielding
We deliver attritable, scalable capabilities within 90 days of a challenge completion.
Accelerated Capability Events (ACEs)
As the cornerstone of the Global Tactical Edge Acquisition Directorate (G-TEAD), Accelerated Capability Events (ACEs) offer a fast‑track pathway for industry to showcase viable solutions, gain Soldier feedback, and accelerate transition into an Army Program of Record.
An ACE is a structured evaluation that rapidly proves technology performance within 180 days from conception of the event to capability transition through live, Soldier‑led demonstrations. Its purpose is to validate Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7+ solutions that can immediately support critical Army Service Component Command operational needs.
- Submission & Preparation: Industry submits technology against the solicitation for an upcoming event and prepares equipment and required authorizations for in‑theater demonstration.
- Live Soldier‑Led Demonstration: Invited vendors participate in a two‑week exercise that includes verbal pitches, Soldier‑run demonstrations, a distinguished visitor day, and an award ceremony.
- Opportunities for Follow‑On Evaluation: Selected technologies remain with units for extended use and additional feedback, enabling Soldiers to identify which solutions should move into prototype purchases and receive potential follow‑on contracts for scaling.
All ACEs will be formally posted on the PIT Opportunities page (coming soon). Be sure to follow the PITs social media platforms to stay current on upcoming events and announcements.
Our mission is simple: deliver capability at the pace of relevance.
