The Pathway for Innovation and Technology (PIT) is central to the Army’s acquisition and modernization transformation by creating a channel for agility and innovation in technology adoption. Positioned as the “forward edge” of ASA(ALT), PIT promotes rapid experimentation, prototyping, and scaling of new technologies while bridging the gap between requirements, acquisition, and industry. It plays a vital role in ensuring the Army’s modernization efforts stay ahead of adversaries by directly addressing capability gaps in its six priority areas, strengthening relations with industry, and eliminating bureaucratic roadblocks. Through PIT, the Army is better positioned to maintain its technological edge and adaptability in a complex, fast-moving global defense environment.
